Second in the Fragments in Time 2022 series - Tales from the Sea

The 2021 Fragments in Time series celebrates the lure of the sea. They were inspired by antique sailor art, valentines and scrimshaw. A Pink is a small schooner that was designed for hauling cargo short distances in the North Sea. It doesn’t sound like a very comfortable or safe vessel to cross the Atlantic in, but many German Palatinate immigrants in the mid-eighteenth century did just that!
