“She believed she could, sew she stitched.”
I am so excited to bring you this project, the third in my Bittersweet Sentiments Limited Edition kits. Fall is my favorite time of year with the mountainsides overflowing with color. I love looking out the window and watching the leaves rain down from the trees. The falling leaves swirl and create so much fun for my pup! This quilty biscornu is my interpretation of that with the many sides of the biscornu and the pinwheel motifs.
Everything you need to create the Biscornu & Bittersweet Pins are included in the kit. Of course, I have included finishing instructions to finish both projects.
Kit Contents: 32ct. Country French Cafe Mocha from Wichelt, 4 skeins of over-dyed floss from Weeks Dye Works, Vintage Button (Note: buttons vary from kit to kit), Woolfelt, Pins, Wool Roving, Charm, Beeswax Pumpkin, #26 Tapestry Needle. Chart & Finishing Instructions.
"Every leaf speaks bliss to me" is from a poem by Emily Bronte. Some designs just flow onto the page, like a painting and this was one of those for me. The leaves swirl around the "organic" text. It would be an equally beautiful finish framed, as well as the drum. Fall = Bliss!
Stitch Count: 160 x 72. Stitched on 32ct. Natural linen from Wichelt Imports with silk floss from Gloriana. Chart includes floss conversion to both Weeks Dye Works overdyed floss & DMC.
Pumpkins, acorns and falling leaves, all our favorite things of autumn, stitched into colorful bands of seasonal hues.
Stitch Count: 95 x 88. Stitched on 40 ct. Colonial Parchment from Fabrics by Stephanie with floss from DMC.
Tenth in the Postcards from the Heart series
Pull out those found objects lurking around the house and add special meaning to your projects. Each Postcard includes two versatile designs to finish into a multi-media project or adapt for any other small finishing ideas you have. The designs are one color, so a great way to use up your scrap floss and fabric. Check out the finishing tutorial on the Summer House Stitche Workes YouTube channel.
Stitched on fabric of your choice with floss of your choice.
Your needles will sing a song as you stitch up this seasonal beauty. Whether you frame it or finish as a drum, it is sure to brighten your Harvest Home. If you do complete the drum finish, take special note how the motifs align together to form a continuous design in the round!
Stitch Count: 128 x 68. Stitched on 132 ct. Tin Roof from Weeks Dye Works with floss from The Gentle Art.

Celebrate the Heartland with this design of rolling hills filled with abundant grain. It was inspired by my nieces when they found themselves lost one day in the middle of Illinois farm country. It's a little bit Grant Wood and a little bit Whimsy!
